RTO/ERO has a national membership of over 55,000 retired teachers. We are proud of having an award winning magazine, Renaissance which is published quarterly.
We are one of forty five districts that make up the voluntary organization of the Retired Teachers of Ontario/les enseignantes et enseignants retraites de l’Ontario.
Our District covers the Niagara Peninsula from Lake Erie to the south, including Fort Erie and Port Colborne, Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake to the east, to the north we have the city of St Catharines and Lake Ontario, and our western boundary stops at a line from Grimsby and Port Colborne.
We are situated in one of the most productive farming regions of Canada with an abundance of grapes, wineries, wonderful fruit and vegetables, and also beautiful flowers.
In our district we have over 2, 600 members and are one of the largest RTO/ERO districts in the province. We have a variety of committees which work away at supporting the membership. They include Health Services and Insurance, Pension Concerns, Political Action, Events, Membership and Recruitment, Goodwill and Communications.
